We’re living in unprecedented times and navigating life as normal as we can. Last weekend I went with some girlfriends to an art exhibit and dinner downtown and naturally, I wanted to make a little snack for the drive down. In earlier times it would have been something to be passed around but with the current climate, I opted for individual containers. I’ve seen charcuterie cones/skewers online for showers and events and thought how fun this concept would be for the girls!
I went to the dollar store and found Tupperware that were the perfect size! I also figured they were inexpensive and recycle-able so we didn’t need to worry about bringing them home. I was looking for any sort of box/container that was large enough to hold a good amount of food while still be small. Conveniently, Trader Joe’s is right next door to them, so I was able to grab all the goods from there! They truly have the best cracker/cheese/nuts etc which makes for a great spread! There’s no rhyme or reason to the selections, I just like a variety of cheese textures/flavors and consider crunch, chew, and freshness when filling the rest of the board/box. Fresh grapes, dried fruit, salted Marcona almonds, and a variety of cracker options…what could be better?!
As a last minute detail I added some pink bakers twine and wrote the girls’ names on the lid with a chalkboard marker. I’m glad I did because it just added a personalized touch which made them feel more fun! These are perfect for gatherings. picnics, events, or just as a ready to go snack box!
