Taste Test Tuesday: Pumpkin Empanadas from Trader Joe’s

It’s very seldom that Trader Joe’s disappoints but this was one of them. I had high hopes that these empanadas would be a fun spin on pumpkin pie but they were not! The pastry was pale and flaky, as if it needed an egg wash before baking. The flavor of the pumpkin was very, pumpkiny, but in a vegetal way, not in a creamy and sweet way! I couldn’t take more than two bites, these were gross! I was considering what it would taste like doused with powdered sugar and possibly served with salted caramel sauce or maple syrup but I just couldn’t bring myself to eat another bite. These were a miss for me! Have you tried them!?
