There’s something about New Years that always leaves me with mixed emotions. On one hand, it’s nice to reflect on the year and make new goals, refresh if you will! On the other, it’s remembering the projects you never finished, the workout plan that never took off from January 2nd, the people you haven’t seen in months, etc. I don’t feel ready to say goodbye to the year yet!
I feel extremely fortunate for the year I’ve had. I experienced many big life changes in 2015. A new job, new nephew, first house, got married, new last name and identity, and I now live within 20 minutes of my immediate family (less than 2 from one of my sisters!). Everyone has good health and we have exciting things on the horizon for 2016. Sure, we’ve had some not-so-Instagram-worthy moments this year but ultimately, I’m lucky.
I have so many personal and professional goals for myself and there never seems like a better time to start than in the New Year. It’s times like these that I look around me and appreciate every one of you. My virtual friends who “like” a photo or send a kind word of support. I may not say it, but every one of you made a difference to me. One of my New Year’s Resolutions is to get to know the people behind the social media handles, you! Drop me an email, send me a direct message. I would just be a weirdo if I blogged to myself but it’s every visitor to my page that keeps me going! I know my posts seem few and far between but when life gets busy I take the priorities where they need to be. I chose spontaneous movie nights with my husband over sharing a slow cooker recipe, and although I feel guilty about it, the same recipe will still be delicious when I get around to sharing it!
So let’s be friends this year! Tell me what you’d like to see more of or less of (Toby pics?!) and what I can do to make your life in the kitchen easier.
I wish you all a safe and Happy New Year, and I’m excited to see how you’re all celebrating!
Thank you 2015, you were good to me. 2016, buckle up! We have a lot of work to do!
Cheers 🙂
