This is one of those things I’ve seen over and over and mean to buy but never do. Well, I did, and my first thought was how good it sounded on Asian lettuce wraps. It really needed to be stirred to combine, and even after stirring the oil separates rather quickly. There is a crunch, but it almost had a granular crunch, if that makes sense. It smelled very spicy but it wasn’t nearly as hot as I anticipated. There was a nice heat and strong punch of onion with a subtle garlic undertone. It reminded me of an onion or garlic bagel you get from a good bagel shop. I added this as a finishing drizzle to the lettuce wraps I mentioned and they were so good! The texture and added flavor was excellent. I’m already trying to figure out how else to use this! I’m told mixing this with soy sauce makes a great dipper for potstickers or sushi. I’m also thinking about mixing it with mayo for a sandwich spread or a dip with chips. Tossing with roasted veggies or wings perhaps. Stay tuned, I’ll test some things out and report back!
